Job Summary

Plant Operations Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing the environment of care through the building and grounds support services functions at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital (HHMH), which includes the oversight and direct management of Engineering as well as coordination of safety functions. This position is accountable for providing leadership that results in cost-effective, efficient building management functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, values, and strategic goals of HHMH.

Responsibilities

•    Duties include negotiating contracts with service providers, inspecting facilities to meet safety regulations and coordinating renovations and updates
•    Effectively and consistently communicates directives to personnel and encourages interactive departmental meetings and discussions.
•    Reports daily to the appropriate leadership personnel regarding the physical and structural conditions of hospital facilities, safety, and environment of care functions.
•    Directs the grievances of employees in coordination with Sr. Director of Support Services for final disposition.
•    Improves performance and productivity standards. Redesigns workflow for improved efficiencies and service levels.
•    Supports the needs of associates, patients, and physicians in providing consistent, cost-effective, and excellent customer service.
•    Develops short-term and long-term operating and capital budgets and strategic plans, goals, and objectives.
•    Participates in space allocation. Oversees moves. Participates in expansions, relocations and all construction projects.
•    Oversees interior design components of the hospital. In collaboration with leadership, approves the selection of furnishings, art, and signage.
•    Maintains compliance with all facility-related government regulations and environmental, health and security standards as well as TJC requirements.
•    Other duties as assigned. 

Required Skills/Abilities 

•    Project management, HCAI experience ability to budget for dept and manage to stay within budget.
•    Ensures that personal conduct is professional at all times.
•    Excellent attendance record.
•    Works at maintaining a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with physicians, health plans, and staff.
•    Completes annual educational requirements.
•    Represents the organization positively and professionally in the community.
•    Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
•    Maintains regulatory requirements, including all state, federal, and TJC regulations related to the Department, as appropriate, the hospital.
•    Attends committee, CQI, and management meetings as appropriate or directed.
•    Maintain medical staff rules/requirements, as well as regulatory body standards.
•    Demonstrates competence in performing duties and responsibilities related to San Benito Health Care District Corporate Responsibility (Compliance) Program.

Education & Experience

•    Engineering Experience – Certifications preferred
•    BA/BS in Business Administration or related field preferred—hospital management experience.
•    At least two years of prior experience in a Manager role similar to the scope of responsibility of this position.
•    Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
•    Ability to handle multiple projects with changing priorities and deadlines.
•    Ability to negotiate contracts and enforce their compliance.
•    Knowledge of hospital management and operations.

Job Type: Full-time, Day Shift

Pay: $120,000 to $140,000 hourly
