Job Summary

Responsible for decontamination, cleaning, processing and sterilization of supplies and equipment dispensed by the department following established infection control practices. Must be conscientious with regard to procedures and capable of working under pressure and interacting professionally with other departments within the hospital. Autonomous and motivated worker. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to accept new ideas and learn position duties. Must be able to follow manufacture guidelines and CMS guidelines when it comes to processing Endoscopes and instrumentation. 

As Lead, additional duties include special ordering of specialty items, assist the Director in Performance Improvement Duties and Audits, review all documentation for ASC and OR for regulatory compliance and continues to keep up with the latest AAMI and CMS guidelines for Sterile Processing.

Responsibilities

•    Responsible for decontamination, cleaning, processing and sterilization of supplies and equipment dispensed by the department following established infection control practices. 
•    Preparation of instrument sets, trays, individually wrapped instruments, etc. 
•    Must be conscientious with regard to procedures, capable of working under pressure, and professional in interactions with co-workers and other departments within the hospital. 
•    Open to feedback and able to master job duties. 
•    Must be able to follow manufacturer and CMS guidelines when processing endoscopes and temperatures in all areas must be maintained and in order for regulatory purposes.  
•    Keeps department supplies stocked according to PAR levels and Inventory Standards.
•    Documentation for Sterilizers, Biologicals, AER processes, ultrasonic processes, humidity, temperatures in all areas must be obtained in order for regulatory purposed. Supplies to the department must follow our inventory standards.
•    Other duties as assigned. 

Required Skills/Abilities 

•    Understanding of Sterile Technique
•    Must be able to follow ANSI and AAMI guidelines
•    Physical ability to lift 30lbs and stand for sustained periods of time 
•    Team oriented and collaborative worker
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•    Basic Computer Skills

Education & Experience

•    High School Graduate
•    Completion of an Accredited Sterile Processing course and required clinical hours
•    BLS Required
•    CSPDT or CRCST Certification Required
•    CIS, and CFER Certification Preferred
•    One year sterile processing experience highly preferred

Job Type: Full-time, Variable Shift

Pay: $28.00 - $31.00 per hour
