Job Summary
The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) provides physical therapy treatments and interventions to patients under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA works to improve the patient's mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities following disease or injury.

Responsibilities

•    Administer physical therapy treatments to patients as directed by the Physical Therapist.
•    Instruct patients in exercises, mobility training, and use of assistive devices.
•    Monitor and document patient progress and response to treatment.
•    Communicate effectively with the Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary care team regarding patient status and treatment adjustments.
•    Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory, professional, and department standards.
•    Ensure patient safety and adhere to infection control protocols.
•    Assist in patient care planning, scheduling, and discharge planning as needed.
•    Participate in staff meetings, in-services, and continuing education activities.
•    Supervise Physical Therapy Aides during patient care tasks to ensure safe, effective, and appropriate assistance in accordance with the plan of care and facility protocol

Required Skills/Abilities 

•    Strong knowledge of physical therapy techniques and practices.
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•    Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and as part of a team.
•    Proficient in using documentation and electronic health record systems.
•    Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.

Education & Experience

•    Associate Degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
•    Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
•    CPR/BLS certification (as required by facility).
•    Prior experience in a clinical setting preferred but not required.

Job Type: Full-time, Day Shift

Pay: $39.00 - $43.00 per hour
