Job Summary
Plans and implements specific treatment programs for individual patients according to the principles and practices of physical therapy. Supervises Physical Therapy Assistant, Physical Therapy Aides and/or Physical Therapy Technicians
Responsibilities
- Provides physical therapy services to patients according to a written physician's plan of care.
- Initiates physical therapy program and instructs other personnel and/or family/caregiver members in certain phases of physical therapy with which they may work with a patient, as well as instructing them as to the goals of the physical therapy program for the patient by participating in case conferences
- May train patient in the use of prosthetic device
- Prepares and submits clinical and progress summaries based on the attainment of goals
- Participates in discharge planning for patient
- Prepares and submits a clinical progress summary based on the attainment of goals
- Participates in peer consultation process
- Gathers, disseminates and communicates pertinent information
- Provides for acquisition , care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies
Required Skills/Abilities
- Demonstrates good verbal and written communication as well as organization skills
- Membership in the American Physical Therapy Association or other professional association desired
Education & Experience
- Possesses a degree from a baccalaureate or master’s program in physical therapy approved by an accredited organization; doctorate degree in physical therapy preferred
- Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice as physical therapist within the California
- Two years of appropriate experience as a physical therapist preferred
- Possesses and maintains current BLS certification by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Job Type: Full-time, All Shifts
Pay: $60.00 - $81.00 per hour
