Job Summary

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for providing high quality patient care, displaying good skills in occupational therapy assessment, treatment planning, group treatment and individual treatment. Additionally, he/she is responsible to function well as a member of the interdisciplinary team and participate in the community relations program.

Responsibilities

•    Plans and implements the occupational therapy program.
•    Performs the initial assessment of the patient's leisure, social, and recreation­ al interests, life experiences, abilities, deficiencies, and barriers to participate in independent activities.
•    Identifies patients' needs in relation to occupational therapy and documents problems and interventions on the master treatment plan.
•    Coordinates and implements the occupational therapy treatment plans, including teaching, to meet the patients' needs related to goals of occupational therapy, in a safe, effective manner.
•    Creates and maintains a safe environment for the patient through appropriate intervention as determined by the patient's status.
•    Demonstrates technical and cognitive skills germane to the program's specialty and occupation­ al therapy standards and competencies.
•    Consistently performs ongoing evaluation of patients' condition and response to the occupational therapy treatment plan, and takes action as indicated.
•    Legibly and accurately documents the elements of the treatment process in the patient record and completes weekly summary evaluations.
•    Participates in multi­ disciplinary treatment staffing.
•    Functions as a team member with the consideration of other team members.
•    Works sufficient hours to ensure needs of the program are met.
•    Utilizes feedback regarding performance and uses supervision to improve performance.
•    Conducts occupational therapy group sessions utilizing knowledge and training in occupational therapy.
•    Provides input on discharge planning in team meetings when appropriate.

Required Skills/Abilities 

•    Good overall interpersonal skills 
•    Ability to work productively and effectively 
•    Ability to function well as a member of an interdisciplinary team 
•    Ability to represent the program well in inter­ actions with others inside and outside the Hospital.

Education & Experience

•    Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy.
•    Registered as an Occupational Therapist.
•    One-year work experience with chemically dependent population.

Job Type: Full-time, All Shifts

Pay: $49.00 - $54.00 per hour
