Job Summary

Provides direct and indirect patient care under the direction of a RN or Physician. The ER Technician assists the work of the Registered Nurse, M.D. and P.A. to meet the needs of patients in order to provide safe, quality care.

Responsibilities

•    Runs specimens to the Laboratory
•    Assists with transport to units/radiology
•    Answers call lights
•    Assists with lab draws (holding child or extremity)
•    Assists patients in/out of vehicles
•    Places patients on monitors
•    Demonstrates a positive attitude and gives positive feedback especially when coaching fellow employees on performance issues.

Required Skills/Abilities 

Working under the director of the Registered Nurse, the ER Tech assists in patient care activities, maintains department stock, and performs technical duties in accordance with policy and procedures. Should be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her unit. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

•    High School graduate or equivalent preferred
•    Emergency Department or EMT experience preferred
•    Current BCLS Certificate 

Job Type: Full-Time, Variable Shift 

Pay: $24.00 to $27.00 hourly
